Rare Adidas Shoes
Adolf Dassler created the German adidas brand in 1948 with the goal of making a lasting influence in sports fashion and technology. From track & field to basketball, the iconic three stripes were initially designed for sneaker support before becoming the simple and elegant adidas logo. The iconic adidas logo is three stripes, which is used on all the clothing and shoes. In fact, sometimes it is referred to as the three stripes company. Adidas bought the design in 1952 from Finnish sports company Karhu Sports for approximately 1600 euros and two bottles of whiskey. After taking the sports world by storm, the brand made a pop culture splash in hip-hop with a little help from rap legends Run DMC and the Beastie Boys. Many years later, Kanye West teamed up with adidas to create the Yeezy brand of very limited edition kicks with a sci-fi vibe. Adidas is the largest sports apparel maker in Europe, and the second largest in the world, after Nike. Michael Jordan initially wanted to work with adidas, but they were not interested. This is one of the fun facts we learned in the great ESPN/Netflix documentary show The Last Dance.
